Once Upon A Creek

Oh how I love sessions that embrace earth’s elements! This is my Brother in laws gorgeous family and I have been blessed to be there for all the stages of their growth as a family, as they were there for mine. I was there when Mark brought the beautiful Brooke to meet the family, I was there when they married and then again when they brought two beautiful girls into the world. Watching them embrace each stage with grace and love.

In literature water popularly represents life and growth and what better way to capture life’s moments than using my favorite elements of earth and water. I find water to be beautiful, the way the light reflects off of it, it’s elegant, it constantly flows unapologetically and finds ways through obstacles, also if you’ve seen Frozen II, you know it holds memory; those are the things I wanted for this session. Memory, beauty, elegance, and a family that is ever changing.

I wanted to freeze this moment for my family, the unwavering relationship these girls have with their mother and the love and laughter they all share. The stories behind a family are never ending and when I have the privilege of continuing to photograph a family through the years I see their story change and evolve. I pray they look back at these moments I am capturing and remanence on the good and bad of this season in life. Like water, through triumphs and struggles and family must come together to unapologetically flow through to the next state and allow their light to shine. Life is always moving, don’t wish away time because you will notice it’s flying by faster than you want it to.
